FOUNDER & THERAPIST

Meet Mi Ae

LMFT | Certified Couples & Sex Therapist | Clinical Supervisor

Welcome! I'm so glad you're here.

I'm Mi Ae, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #135709) and an AACAST Certified Couples and Sex Therapist. A significant part of my work focuses on helping couples navigate relationship challenges, deepen emotional and sexual intimacy, and find their way back to meaningful connection.

I believe our relationships profoundly influence how we experience ourselves and the world around us. The ways we learned to love, connect, and protect ourselves often shape how we show up in our closest relationships, sometimes creating patterns that leave us feeling disconnected, misunderstood, or alone.

My work is rooted in relational attachment theory and differentiation, helping individuals and couples better understand the emotional and relational patterns that shape their experiences. Whether we're exploring recurring conflicts, differences in sexual desire, difficulties with intimacy, or the impact of past relational wounds, I approach these conversations with curiosity, compassion, and openness.

I believe that healthy intimacy involves both connection and a strong sense of self. My goal is to help you understand your needs, communicate more honestly, navigate difficult emotions, and develop relationships where both closeness and individuality can thrive.

As a therapist, I bring warmth, grace, insight, directness, and sometimes a little humor into the room. I hope to create a space where you feel genuinely understood, supported as you explore what feels difficult, and thoughtfully challenged to grow.

Whether you're seeking couples therapy, navigating concerns around sex and intimacy, or hoping to understand yourself more deeply, I'm honored to walk alongside you in that process.

THE HEART OF MY WORK

Relationships, Intimacy & Connection

Much of my work centers on the complexities of loving, being loved, and staying connected to ourselves along the way.

WHAT IT'S LIKE TO WORK TOGETHER

My Approach to Therapy

I believe meaningful change happens when we feel understood, are invited to look a little deeper, and have the space to show up as our authentic selves.

BEYOND RELATIONSHIPS & INTIMACY

Making Space for Your Whole Story

While relationships and intimacy are central to my work, I also support individuals navigating grief and loss, trauma, cultural identity, and faith and spirituality.

A PLACE TO BEGIN

You Don't Have to Have It All Figured Out

Beginning therapy can feel vulnerable, especially when you're unsure where to start. You don't need to have all the answers or know exactly what to say. My hope is that you'll find a space where you can show up as you are, feel genuinely understood, and begin exploring what matters most to you.
