What is an Immigration Evaluation?

A mental health assessment conducted by a licensed mental health professional is provided for someone to submit as part of their immigration case.

Mental health evaluations are vital assets in immigration cases, often serving as compelling evidence to support your immigration cases. In many instances, the evaluation can be the deciding factor in whether your petition is approved or denied.

I am bilingual in Spanish and English and have conducted many mental health assessments. I have many years of clinical experience providing therapy for individuals with a wide range of psychological disorders. I provide a tailored and comprehensive report for your case.

Types of Cases

  • Extreme Hardship Waiver

Extreme Hardship Waivers are granted to immigrants who have stayed in the United States without authorization. The petition is filed by a family member who is either a legal U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident of the United States and who would undergo severe hardship if separated from or forced to relocate with the non-citizen immigrant.

  • Asylum

Asylum entails completing an application alongside your attorney within a year of arriving in the U.S. if you're seeking protection for yourself, your spouse, and children, based on experiencing or fearing persecution in your country of origin. Persecution may be linked to factors such as race, religion, nationality, membership in a social group, or holding political opinions.

  • VAWA

The Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) allows non-citizen immigrants, irrespective of gender, who have a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident spouse, children, or parent, to file a petition to stay in the United States without the abuser's knowledge. To do so, the immigrant must provide factual evidence, such as a police report, demonstrating the suffering of violence and domestic abuse.

  • U Visa & T Visa

The U-Visa is granted to crime victims and their immediate family members in the U.S., while the T-Visa is for victims of human trafficking. Applicants, including undocumented individuals, must cooperate with law enforcement and government investigations into the crime that caused them harm, receiving protection from U.S. authorities throughout the process.
